Very often we see our local businesses closing and new ones popping up, especially our restaurants. In a town filled with pizza and fast food places, Pen’s Oriental Kitchen is a refreshing balance to the same tired restaurants we usually go to. Located in the Purcellville shopping center, Pen’s Oriental Kitchen has stood strong for fifteen years. It says something about the kind of food and service they provide.
Most people might remember Pen’s the way it used to be: a classic Chinese restaurant with standard Chinese food. In the many years they’ve been here they have really made a name for themselves in our small town. But since they’ve come under new management, Pen’s has widened their menu and now offer sushi as well. And even with the new variety of dishes, they still take the same amount of care with the traditional Chinese dishes as their new ones. Traditions haven’t lost their quality.
The concept of a sushi restaurant is a very urban one. It gives our small town a city-esque vibe. Some may think that having a sushi bar at a Chinese restaurant is strange, but our very own Pen’s made it happen. In addition to having the normal line up of sushi rolls, they have a variety of special rolls. Among the best, the appropriately named Purcellville roll.
It could very well be a possible date night destination, but we’re most likely to be seen there with our families. Pen’s Oriental Kitchen has a simple, inviting atmosphere. It’s casual and comfortable and has a very family friendly feel. You could fit everyone in a booth or get everyone around a round table. Highchairs are also available to you if needed. And of course the last thing you want is to pay a fortune for a night out with your family. Pen’s reasonable prices make your dinner out delicious and affordable.
Surely very important, the service is not to be overlooked. The most gracious waiters serve you throughout your meal and don’t make you wait for anything. Your glass stays full and your food comes out in a timely manner. Although they keep your party satisfied during dinner they remain almost unnoticed throughout the night as not to disturb you and your guests.
It’s very clear why Pen’s has been part of our town since 1997. So get out of your routine of the same tired diners and food chains and make a change. Next time you’re stuck in that back and forth of trying to pick a place to eat stop by Pen’s Oriental Kitchen. There’s a good chance it’ll become one of your regulars.
